Held on Saturday, February 3rd at Broken Goblet Brewing Company in Bensalem, this annual event helped to raise funds and provide food donations to the Bernardine Center.

This was the first time we attended the event, which is the SOB’s largest fundraiser. Proceeds benefited the Bernardine Center, which is based in Chester and provides many services for the community, including a food bank. For the cost of admission, you received two drink tickets (more could be purchased), raffle and door prize tickets, a HKH sticker, and food from a buffet provided by Dog and Bull. Attendees were encouraged to bring nonperishable food items for donation, and you received extra raffle tickets for doing so. Besides the many great raffle items that were donated, which included things like Tunnel Club and game tickets, numerous signed items, tickets to Phillies and Wings games and movie screenings, there was also a silent auction for playoff banners and signed items. Phang, Sébastien Le Toux, and Ashli Rice.

It was wonderful to see so many people we knew, and also to get to meet some new people with whom we had some great discussions. I’ve missed being at the games and tailgates, and I could tell that many others felt the same way. This get-together was, in a way, sort of an appetizer for the rapidly approaching season.

All in all, the food and drinks were great, the socializing was even better, and, best of all, lots of food and money were donated for a great cause. In case you are wondering, Kyle and I did not win anything from the raffles unfortunately, and while I really would have liked to have come home with one of those playoff banners, I decided to save my money for probably all the other merch I will likely be spending it on. That being said, I will gladly take a playoff banner off anyone’s hands who is willing to part with it.

We cannot wait to see our fellow SOBs and the rest of the Union fans at Subaru Park soon!
