Homegrown center back Neil Pierre was named to the U-19 squad, led by Gus Teren, and will report to Wrexham, Wales for the UEFA U-19 Youth Tournament. It will run from November 10-18, and they will play Germany on November 12 (11:30 AM ET), Wales on November 15 (9:30 AM ET), and Japan on November 18 (6:00 AM ET). Notably, the match against Wales will take place at the home of Wrexham AFC, STōK Racecourse. They will be continuing the path toward qualification for the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Pierre is coming off a strong season with Union II where he was named MLS Next Pro Defender of the Year, had four goals, and played 1,592 minutes. He also made one appearance with the first team, making his MLS debut in their match at Vancouver.

Getting the call for the U-17 squad, who will travel to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, were Union II’s Malik Jakupovic and Union Academy’s Matthew White. Alex Aldaz, the U-16 Boys’ National Team coach, will lead the group during their camp that runs November 10-18. They will play three closed-door friendlies: England on November 13 (8:00 AM ET), Australia on November 15 (6:30 AM ET), and Ivory Coast on November 18 (2:00 AM ET). The squad is working toward qualification for the 2026 FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Both Jakupovic and White are part of the Union Academy’s U-18 squad, however Jakupovic also signed an MLS Next Pro contract with Union II in May. In the regular season, the striker was tied for the team lead in goals for Union II with eight, and did so in only 417 minutes played. He also appeared with them during their playoff run. White, a goalkeeper who is a more recent addition to Philadelphia, having joined in the summer from San Jose Earthquakes, has been a strong addition to the Academy.

Additionally, the Union Academy’s Caleb Chabala and Jaxson Fulmer recently participated in the U-15 Boys’ National Team Camp that took place October 19-26 in Chula Vista, California, also coached by Alex Aldaz.
