CHESTER, Pa.—After appearing to be absent from the Union’s preseason and beginning of the season, the question of where Markus Anderson is has officially been answered. The 22-year-old native of Brooklyn, New York is headed home. He has been loaned to USL Championship side Brooklyn FC through the 2026 season where he will be reunited with his former coach at Union II, Marlon LeBlanc.

Anderson was signed to the Philadelphia Union in January 2024, coming from CF Rayo Majadahonda in the Spanish third division, but has mostly featured with Union II. He played in four regular MLS matches in 2024, but was a key piece to Union II’s run to the MLS Next Pro Cup that season. He had four goals/three assists during the regular season and three goals in the postseason—including the Final.

In 2025, he once again mostly featured with Union II. At that level, he had six goals and five assists in 21 regular season/3 postseason appearances. He made three MLS appearances, memorably scoring the game-winning goal against Charlotte in the 98th minute for his first MLS goal. It was the latest regular-season goal in team history.
