The Philadelphia Union are back on the road this week after their 4-1 victory last Saturday at Subaru Park.

This coming Saturday, the Union travel to Foxborough, Massachusetts, to take on the New England Revolution at Gillette Stadium at 7:30 PM. Last season, the Union secured a 3-0 victory during a rough stretch of the season last May, thanks to a Daniel Gazdag brace and a Julian Carranza goal.

If you are heading up to see the match and maybe staying for the Philadelphia Union II’s season opener on Sunday, here are a few places to check out while in town.

As always, if you have a favorite spot in Foxborough, please feel free to share it. The best away days are when you discover an amazing place off the beaten path. So, please comment and help those traveling to the match have the best experience possible.

Places to Visit

Foxborough was settled in 1704 and incorporated in 1778. It was named after Charles James Fox, a British Parliament member who was incredibly passionate about colonial independence. Foxborough is home to New England’s largest sports arena, which is attached to more than 24 stores, 25 restaurants, and 17 entertainment centers. In the Uptown area, travelers can experience the town’s history and choose from a variety of dining and shopping options.

Here are a few places to check out before and after the game:

Patriot Place

While this isn’t technically inside Foxborough, Patriot Place offers plenty of options for those heading to the match. Adjacent to Gillette Stadium, Patriot Place features more than 1.3 million square feet of shopping, dining, and entertainment. It’s probably your best bet for things to do before and after the match.
