The City of Brotherly Love will host five group-stage matches from June 14 through June 27, in addition to a Round of 16 knockout match on July 4. The date is fitting for Philadelphia, as it coincides with the nation’s Semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the founding of the United States.

Of the five group-stage matches taking place at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia will host games from Group C (Brazil, Haiti, Morocco, and Scotland), Group E (Germany, Curaçao, Côte d’Ivoire, and Ecuador), Group I (France, Senegal, the winner of the Iraq–Bolivia–Suriname playoff, and Norway), and Group L (England, Croatia, Ghana, and Panama).

Matches in Philadelphia will kick off on Sunday, June 14, at 7 p.m., as Côte d’Ivoire and Ecuador square off in a Group E matchup. The next match comes five days later, with Group C action as Brazil faces Haiti on Friday, June 19, at 9 p.m. For Philadelphia Union fans, this could serve as a homecoming of sorts for Union defensive midfielder and Haitian international Danley Jean Jacques.

Three days later, on Monday, June 22, France will face the winner of Iraq, Bolivia, or Suriname at 4 p.m. Then, on Thursday, June 25, Côte d’Ivoire returns to the Linc to take on Curaçao at 5 p.m. The busy three-match week in Philadelphia wraps up on Saturday, June 27, when Croatia and Ghana face off at 5 p.m.

The Round of 16 knockout match, scheduled for July 4 at 5 p.m., could provide a unique twist. A scenario could emerge in which England plays in Philadelphia on the nation’s 250th anniversary. While many variables would need to fall into place, it would be quite the scene should England take the field in the city on Independence Day.

Regardless, the atmosphere promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, as locals and fans from around the world descend on the Philadelphia sports complex while the World Cup is in town. Whether tailgating or attending a match, it will be well worth the trip to Philadelphia for those who can make it.

For fans looking to secure tickets to the six matches in Philadelphia, FIFA announced that the Random Selection Draw will run from December 11 through January 13, marking the third draw for this summer’s tournament. Interested fans can visit fifa.com/tickets to apply for matches they wish to attend, according to FIFA’s official communications.

It is shaping up to be an exciting summer of soccer in North America, and we will be in Philadelphia covering all the sights, sounds, and stories from the 2026 World Cup. Be sure to stay tuned for more coverage as details continue to emerge.
